Getting to the Market
On Saturdays, Salamanca Place is closed to vehicular traffic from 5.30 am to 6.00 pm and vehicle parking near Salamanca Market is limited. Visitors are encouraged to use the free Salamanca Market shuttle bus, the Metro bus system or the multiple carparks within the Hobart city centre.
Salamanca Market Shuttle Bus
The free Salamanca Shuttle bus runs in a continuous loop between the Hobart city centre and Salamanca Market every Saturday from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. If you are worried about finding a park near the market then this is a great solution. Park in any of the city centre carparks and catch the free shuttle bus to the market.

Parking on the street: Parking is available on many streets in and around the Hobart city centre and along the waterfront, and is usually limited to less than three hours at most locations.
City centre carparks: Park in either Argyle Street carpark, Centrepoint carpark or Hobart Central carpark in the Hobart city centre and catch the Salamanca Market shuttle bus directly to the market.
Trafalgar Place carpark: This carpark is located off Macquarie Street. It is open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm and is a five minute walk to Salamanca Market.
Dunn Place carpark: Provides voucher parking and is approximately a ten minute walk to Salamanca Market.
Salamanca Square carpark: Is located next to Salamanca Market with entry from Montpelier Retreat.
Montpelier Retreat private carpark: Located on Montpelier Retreat next to Salamanca Market. Parking is available between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm on Saturday.
Caravans and Campervans: Caravans and Campervans are not able to be parked in city centre carparks, however parking is available at the Hobart Regatta Grounds, which is approximately a 20 minutes walk to Salamanca Market. There are also limited parks at the CSIRO at Castray Esplanade, which is a 5 minutes walk from Salamanca Market.
