Dog Registration

The following guidelines apply when applying for a discount for dog registrations:

Pensioner fee

The registration fee for pensioners is for the first dog only and subject to production of a current pensioner card.  Any additional dog kept by the pensioner shall be registered at the full rate applicable.

Obedience club trained fee

Owners of dogs that have achieved level 1 obedience training and have the required certificate of proof dated prior to 1st of July in the year of registration will receive a 50% discount on the standard registration fee.

Desexed fee

Owners wishing to claim initial reduced dog registration fees for spayed or neutered dogs must produce a veterinarian certificate.

Greyhound / purebred fee

Owners wishing to claim reduced dog registration fees for Greyhounds registered with the Tasmanian Greyhound Racing Board, or breeding dogs registered with the Tasmanian Canine Association must produce the relevant identification card.

Working dogs fee

Owners wishing to claim reduced dog registration fees for farm stock working dogs may be required to provide a demonstration.
