State of Environment Report

Local councils have a greater responsibility for the local environment than any other organisations. Within Hobart municipality, the Hobart City Council has a leading role in most aspects of environmental management.

In December 1998, Hobart City Council released the first State of the Environment report for the Hobart municipality. This documents environmental issues affecting the area, and the ways in which the local environment is managed. It represents a good introduction for those interested in learning more about the relationship between Hobart and the natural environment.
