The Hobart City Council has developed a Draft Sustainable Transport Strategy in line with the Hobart 2025 Strategic Framework and the Hobart City Council 2008 - 2013 Strategic Plan.
A Sustainable Transport Strategy forms part of creating the Hobart 2025 Vision to create a City that is highly accessible through efficient transport options.
The Draft Sustainable Transport Strategy 2008 outlines a range of issues with our current transportation system and suggests initial goals for Council to pursue to create a more sustainable transport system. A short list of immediate projects to pursue also forms part of the strategy. The Draft Sustainable Transport Strategy can be viewed as a pdf file, or in hardcopy form at the Hobart City Council Customer Services Centre throughout August and September 2008.
Alternatively, the strategy can be mailed to interested parties on request. Requests can be made by ringing Council’s City Services Division on 6238 2900.
Comments received will assist in the development of the final Strategy to be adopted by Council. Comments from interested parties would be appreciated by 30th September 2008.
Comments can be made via email to hcc@hobartcity.com.au. Please reference the Draft Sustainable Transport Strategy in the Subject of the Email. Comments in writing should be sent to Hobart City Council, GPO Box 503, Hobart 7001.
