Hobart City Council on 28th July 2003 endorsed the Townscape Guidelines for Macquarie Street - Cascade Road as an Advisory Guidelines document.
The Council urges prospective developers in the area including householders contemplating extensions or work on their homes, to consider the principles and guidance set out in document in the design process.
In this way the qualities of the streetscape and townscape overall that residents, businesses and visitors enjoy can be protected and enhanced.
