Hobart City Council recognised as a National High Achiever

The Hobart City Council has received its greatest ever accolade in winning the Gold Award at the 20th annual Australian Business Excellence Awards conducted by SAI Global.

Not only did the Council receive the Gold Award but it also received the coveted Excellence Medal, awarded to the highest performing organisation in the awards process.  Find out More.

Bush Adventures Program

The Bush Adventures program offers free nature based activites for all ages. The 2008/09 Summer program includes a range of adventures for adults and children.  Activities include ravaging reptiles and artistic naturally.  To view the full program details please click here.

Hobart City Council Apology - 20th Anniversary Tasmanian Gay Law Reform Group Stall Salamanca Market 1988

At a reception in the Hobart Town Hall on 10 December, the Lord Mayor of Hobart offered an apology on behalf of the Council for actions it initiated to ban the attendance of the Tasmanian Gay Law Reform Group from Salamanca Market 20 years ago.  Further details are available here.

Bushland Managment Strategy

The Hobart City Council Bushland Management Strategy 2007-2017 provides a long-term strategic framework for the future management and protection of Hobart's bushland values for the next ten years.  Copies of the strategy are available here.
