Green Waste – Fortnightly Service Introduction
A fortnightly kerbside green waste service using wheelie bins will commence on 2 May 2016 for most residential properties greater than 400m2 and less than 4000m2.
Properties in the CBD, Fern Tree and Sullivans Cove, as well as those with four or more tenancies (flats etc.) will not automatically receive the service.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I opt-in if I would like to receive the service?
It is possible to opt-in to the new service if you do not automatically receive it. Application must be requested by the property owner. For more details please see Green Waste Bin Application Form
What if this is not enough to service my property?
If the bins can be safely presented for collection and safely stored on the property in between collections, property owners can have multiple bins to service their property. This will attract a service fee in the order of $50 each year and requires the owner to make an application for extra bins. Please refer to the above application form.
How much will it cost?
The service will cost in the order of $50 per service (bin collected each fortnight for twelve months). This will be confirmed once the 2016/17 rates are approved by the Council later in the financial year.
When do I put my bin out and how do I use the service?
Please see Green Waste Bin Flyer for more details.
