All residential properties are supplied with a 240 Litre wheelie bin for recycling, identifiable by its yellow lid, which is also embossed with information on the types of recyclable items able to be placed in the bin.
Residents who have difficulty handling the 240 litre wheelie bin can request that the bin be replaced with a small 140 litre wheelie bin.

Collection for Good Friday will be on the Thursday before. For Christmas 2010, kerbside waste and recyclables collection will not change. There are no other changes over the Christmas/New Year period. Collection services run as usual for all other days of the year.
Hobart residents and businesses can also recycle the same materials as collected in the kerbside system by dropping them at the recycling depot at the McRobies Gully Waste Management Centre. This service provides users with an avenue to dispose of any extra recycling they have, and there is no charge to use the facilities.
