Children and Families

Hobart City Council provides and promotes a range of activities and services for children and families. These include:


City of Hobart Children and Family Strategy 2014-2019

In November 2014 Council implemented the Children and Family Strategy for 2014 -2019. The Children and Family Strategy provides a broad framework to:

  • Connect organisations within the children and familes sector in Hobart;
  • Support and promote opportunities for parents to connect with each other;
  • Support and promote dynamic, vibrant and culturally expressive opportunities for families and children;
  • Support children and families acess to service's  through information provision;
  • Increase opportunities for children to live in healthy, happy and safe environments. 

To action this framework Council has identified the following three (3) key priority areas:

  • Networking and Communication
  • Engaging and Participating
  • Coordinating Across Council

In December 2014 via consultation with local families and the Hobart Children and Family Network, Council designed a new listing of services for Children and Familes in Hobart.
